Special to the Advance EDINBURG — Karina Cardoza was elected to Place 3 of the Hidalgo County Appraisal District Board of Directors in the May 2024 Uniform Election held on Saturday, May 4, 2024. Cardoza, a government public relations professional running for office for the first time, faced two opponents in the historic inaugural election to seat three elected representatives on the board.
