City school park hours adjusted as students attend summer school

McALLEN — As of Monday, the McAllen Independent School District began their summer school program.

In following safety protocols for all students, city school parks will continue to follow the normal school day gate closure schedule. The following parks, located at McAllen Independent School District schools, will only be open to the public Monday through Friday during the times listed below. All parks listed will be open Saturday and Sunday from 6 a.m. through 11 p.m.

The following city school parks will have summer school hours, Monday through Friday, June 3 –August 1, 6 p.m. – 11 p.m.:

• Escandon Elementary, 2901 Colbath Ave, McAllen, TX 78503

• Castañeda Elementary, 4100 N 34th St., McAllen, TX 78504

• Jackson Elementary, 501 Harvey Ave., McAllen, TX 78501

• Alvarez Elementary, 2606 Gumwood, McAllen, TX 78501

• Milam Elementary, 3800 N Main St., McAllen, TX 78501 The following city school parks will have summer school hours, Monday through Friday, June 3 – June 21; 6 p.m. – 11 p.m.:

• Navarro Elementary School, 2100 W Hackberry Ave., McAllen, Texas TX 78501.
