Comptroller distributes $1.1B in monthly sales tax revenue

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.1 billion in local sales tax allocations for June, 6.8 percent more than in June 2023. These allocations are based on sales made in April by businesses that report tax monthly.

In case you're interested in how other Texas cities compared for the same reporting period, June 2023 vs. June 2024, Austin was up 4.49 percent, Brownsville up 16.90 percent, Dallas up 9.35 percent, El Paso up 1.88 percent, Houston up 1.06 percent, Laredo up 13.17 percent, and San Antonio up 5.59 percent.
