DHR Health welcomes medical professional

EDINBURG — DHR Health recently welcomed Dr. Ahsan Ali to its distinguished team of physicians at the Neuroscience Institute.

As a neurohospitalist, Dr. Ali brings extensive expertise in managing a broad spectrum of acute neurological conditions, including seizures, neuromuscular and inflammatory disorders, with a specialized focus on acute stroke care.

“Dr. Ali will be a valuable addition to our highly skilled team at the Neuroscience Institute,” said Marissa Castaneda, Executive Vice President at DHR Health. “His dedication and commitment to serving our community with excellence make him an ideal fit for our organization.”

Originally from Pakistan, Dr. Ali earned his medical degree from King Edward Medical University. He completed his neurology residency at Saint Louis University in Missouri and advanced his training with a fellowship in vascular neurology at the University of Toledo. Dr. Ali is an active member of the American Heart Association, American Stroke Association, and Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology. His research focuses on stroke, and he has presented extensively in this field. Outside of work, Dr. Ali enjoys cooking, playing video games, cricket, travelling, swimming and spending time with his family. Dr. Ali is deeply committed to the field of neurology and is eager to begin his new role at DHR Health.

As part of the DHR Health Neuroscience Team, Dr. Ali will contribute to the region's first Joint Commission Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center.
