ERASMO MARTINEZ

SAN JUAN — Erasmo Martinez, age 83, passed away Friday, August 9, 2024 at his residence in San Juan.

Erasmo loved to play golf and was a member of the citizen community for the Pharr Police Department.

He is survived by his loving wife, Elicena Martinez; 5 children, Roel Erasmo Martinez, Melissa Ann Ramirez; Dory (Ricardo) Rodriguez, Velma Lee Ruiz, Yolanda (Jesse) Ramirez, Chris (Ryan) Abbott; a sister, Aurelia Soto; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren. His grandchildren and greatgrandchildren were his pride and joy.

A memorial service was held at Aurora Funeral Home Sam Houston from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. A rosary was scheduled to be recited at 6 p.m. Mass of celebration will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at St. Margaret's Catholic Church at 10 a.m.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Our Sacred Heart Hospice for the care they gave, but a special thank you to Leo.
