JOSE FRANCISCO RODRIGUEZ

EDINBURG — Joe Rodriguez, 82, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024, at his residence in Edinburg, surrounded by family. Born in Edinburg, TX, son of the late Jose Rodriguez and Emma Cantu.

Beloved husband for 62 years of Betty Rodriguez. Devoted and unwavering father of 4 children, Patricia (Gilbert) Morado, Melissa (Joe) DiPento, Robert Rodriguez, Joey Rodriguez; five grandchildren, Brandon Morado, Edward (Abi) DiPento, Breana (Tyler) Lege, Robert Rodriguez, Brittany Rodriguez; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters; a brother; several nieces and nephews.

For over 40 years, Joe was a successful businessman specializing in heavy machinery, and to some became known as the Diesel doctor. He was greatly admired by his colleagues for his work ethic, and gifted ability to restore machinery.

To honor Joe’s memory, visitation was held September 4, 2024, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service was Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
