Texas Commission on Jail Standards certifies new courthouse

Special to the Advance EDINBURG — The Texas Commission on Jail Standards inspected the holding facilities of the new Hidalgo County Courthouse and certified that it met the state’s reasonable minimum standards for the construction and operation of jails, a Friday release by the county said.“This is a significant step forward in the completion of one of the largest construction projects in Hidalgo County history,” said Hidalgo County Judge Richard F.
