Hub City Toastmasters club celebrates 15 years

The HUB City Toastmasters club of Pharr recently celebrated 15 years of serving the community by helping individuals improve their communication and leadership skills.

Thanks to Luis Bazan, who was the 2009 President of the Pharr Chamber of Commerce, who provided a room to meet in. This club was chartered by Winter Texan Phyllis Allen who came to us from Iowa and is now a converted Texan right here in Alamo.

People from all walks of life have conquered the fear of public speaking due to Toastmasters. HUB City is proud to have Pharr native Luisa Montalvo, the 2024 Toastmasters World Champion of Public Speaking, as a member of the club.

HUB City club now meets at the Pharr Memorial Library, 2nd floor, 121 E Cherokee, every Wednesday from 12 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Guests are always welcome. Zoom is available which has brought members from Nebraska, Iowa, Florida and local people at their desks.
