Special to the Advance EDINBURG — On Sunday, March 16, 2025, at approximately 3: 12 a. m., the Edinburg Police Department Traffic Division responded to a major accident and rollover in the 1800 block of North Sugar Road.Upon arrival, officers found that the passenger, identified as 22- year- old Faith Gonzalez, had been ejected from the vehicle, a 1992 Ford Mustang. Fortunately, her injuries were determined to be non- life- threatening.The driver — Juan Carlos Contreras — was arraigned Monday on charges of Racing and Intoxication Assault.Authorities are also investigating a potential second vehicle involved in the incident.The case remains ...
