PVAS set to host ‘Color Splash’ event on Saturday
Need to add some color into your life and do it for a good cause?
Do you also love animals? If both are yes, then Palm Valley Animal Society — a local animal shelter organization — will host their “Give A Bark Color Splash Walk/Run” on Saturday at Fireman’s Park in McAllen.
“This vibrant and exciting color run isn’t just about running — it’s about coming together as a community to support homeless pets while having a blast,” PVAS said on its website.
Registration is underway and participants will have to be pay $30 for the 5K Run. However, if you feel your paws will be howling at the sounds of a 5K, then there is a 1 Mile Doggy Dash, which has a $20 fee.
“By participating, you’re directly supporting Palm Valley Animal Society (PVAS) and helping provide care, food, and medical support for the thousands of animals in our shelters,” PVAS said on its site.
Participants will be treated to bursts of colorful and pet-safe powder as they make their way through the scenic course. Those who enter are encouraged to run or walk at their own pace.
Fireman’s Park is located at 201 N. Street in McAllen.
