Ramp, nightly closures set for this week
PHARR — As work continues on the I-2/I-69 Interchange Project, there will be a shakeup in the traffic for this week.
According to a release by Dragaos-Pulice Joint Venture, the westbound I-2 entrance ramp located between Veterans Boulevard and Cage Boulevard will close tomorrow until May 21.
“This will be a continuous closure to provide crews with a safe work zone,” the release said.
The I-2 intersections at Raul Longoria Road in San Juan, as well as McColl Road in McAllen, will be intermittently closed nightly this week. The closures will be from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The release also said that those driving through the project limits should anticipate changes in traffic, such as lane reductions.
“The project limits are on I-2 between 2nd Street in McAllen and Cesar Chavez Road in San Juan, and I-69C between Nolana Loop and the Pharr Interchange,” the release said.
