Driver charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter
A Saturday crash in McAllen has left two people dead and one suspect arrested.
Dionicio Luna Aguirre, 40, was arrested and charged with two counts of Intoxication Manslaughter for a vehicle collision that occurred near the intersection of North 2nd Street and Nolana Avenue at about 2:29 a.m. Saturday.
McAllen officers reported that the crash involved two vehicles — a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck and a Nissan Altima passenger car.
Aguirre, who was allegedy driving the Chevrolet Silverado, had a passenger with him who died in the crash. The passenger's name is identified as Gianncarlo Coriabustos, 20, according to a McAllen PD release.
The driver of the Nissan Altima — Juan Carlos Perez — also died due to the collision. Perez was 54.
Aguiree was arraigned Thursday and charged with the two counts of intoxication manslaughter (2nd-degree felony).
His bond was set at $600,000.
