Night closures announced for I-2 /I-69C project

PHARR — Drivers might want to plan ahead because nightly lane reductions are announced for this week.

The closures will be until July 27 for the I-2/I-69C Interchange Project, according to a release by Dragados- Pulice Joint Venture.

The nightly closures will be from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. The closures are to provide a safe work zone for crew members.

Here are the closures:

• Eastbound I-2 frontage road between Cage Boulevard and Veterans Boulevard in Pharr

•Westbound I-2 frontage road between Cage Boulevard and Sugar Road in Pharr

• U.S. Business 83 underpass at I-2 in Pharr

• Westbound I-2 frontage road between Jackson Road and Jackson Avenue in McAllen 'Entrance and exit ramps through McAllen, Pharr and San Juan may be intermittently closed while work is taking place,' the release said.

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and drive carefully near work zones.

All project work is weather permitting.
