Empty Nest Looming? Cinderella to the rescue!
If one of your young ones is headed off to college, leaving you wondering what you will do with all the extra time on your hands, think of adopting a pet who would love to be loved by you!
Cinderella Pet Rescue has a lot of great pets to choose from, but this week we’re featuring June, a sweetheart of a dog, and Sherbet, a handsome and mellow marmalade tabbycat who just turned three.
June is a Foxhound/Lab cross who weighs 58 pounds. She will turn four in September. She’s brown, beige and white with a face that’s split down the middle, with white on one side and beige on the other. She’s got gold eyes and a big contagious smile. She’s a solid, sturdy pooch with a perfectly petable coat.
She’s extremely smart and finds that every day is her best day ever. She has impressed our volunteers with her enthusiasm for all things related to playing. She loves toys, fetching, tug of war, wrestling, and swimming but she’s also quite accomplished at napping in the sun or snuggling in under the covers at night with a favorite human.
This big “June Bug” loves interacting with people and learns new commands easily. She also makes her needs known and is eager to please. She’s just the sort of companion that can keep you company no matter what you’re doing. It doesn’t matter to June—she’ll be happy and will consider it her job to see that you’re happy too.

Sherbet is a great alternative if you’re partial to pets of the smaller, more feline persuasion. He’s good-looking, friendly and very playful for an adult cat. He gets along well with other cats and wouldn’t mind sharing you with other cats in the family. He has also been around friendly dogs and has been known to make some canine buddies.
Getting attention and affection from people is his favorite pastime, whenever he gets the chance. He loves nothing better than curling up in an available lap and turning on his “purr-motor”. Another favorite activity is chasing a laser pointer. He knows if he keeps trying, he will catch that little red dot eventually and teach it a lesson it will never forget!
Since both Sherbet and June are already dependable, well-behaved adults, there will be none of that sometimes tiring and frustrating “toddler” period. They are literally “good to go” and you will be happy to refill your nest with a pet who is just a little bit older and wiser than a kitten or a puppy.
