McAllen continues firm action against bar operators violating permit rules

The City of McAllen continues taking steps to uphold safety and accountability in the downtown Entertainment and Cultural Overlay District (ECOD) by prosecuting bar owners and operators who continue to disregard permit requirements.At Tuesday’s preferential docket in McAllen Municipal Court, bar operators entered 34 misdemeanor pleas for operating without a Special Use Permit (SUP) or violating its conditions, resulting in $11,115 in fines.
