Edinburg man allegedly threatens to 'shoot up' behavioral facility
A man last week allegedy made threats to "shoot up" the South Texas Behavioral Center in Edinburg.
Edinburg Police Department patrol units took the report of the terroristic threat and the Criminal Investigations Division took over the investigation.
Timothy Leos was identified as the suspect after an arrest warrant was obtained. Through the assistance of a DPS helicopter, detectives were able to track down Leos. His vehicle and him were found in the rural Mission area — more specifically, he was stopped near Stewart Road and State HIghway 107 by a sheriff's deputy.
"The suspect reportedly made the threats because his girlfriend is a current patient at the facility and he wanted her out," a city release said.
He was arrested without incident.
According to Hidalgo County records, he was charged with Terroristic threat Imp Pub Serv/Pub Fear SBI/Influ GV — with a bond set at $25,000.
