Spurs win back-to-back games in home stretch
The Spurs (7-2) hit a bit of a hurdle in the first few days of November as they loss two games back to back against the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers.
However, home is sweet for the San Antonio squad as they bounced back to win intra-state rival, the Houston Rockets (6-3) — whose roster is looking a bit fresh with superstar Kevin Durant.
After the 121-110 win against H-Town, the Spurs hosted the New Orleans Pelicans (2-7) and took the dub, 126-119 on Saturday.
De’Aaron Fox — who underwent a season-ending injury last season — made his debut known as he racked up 24 points, showing glimpses of his younger self when he was with the Sacramento Kings. The tall tower that is Victor Wembanyama, tallied up a double-double for himself, while Stephon Castle put up a double-double of his own with 14 points and dishing out 14 assists.
To no surprise, Zion Williamson missed another game for the Pelicans with an injury. But Trey Murphy III had a game high 41 points for the New Orleans team. Jeremiah Fears had 18 for himself.
