RGV Vipers split games against Squadron
The Rio Grande Valley Vipers had two away games in Alabama as they faced the Birmingham Squadron. The Vipers took one and lost one against the New Orleans G-League affiliate.
in the first game, the second quarter was the lift that the Vipers needed to help give them the lead for the remainder of the game as they exploded for 42 points, while keeping the Squadron at 25.
In the second half though, the steam started to dissipate as the RGV was outscored in both the third and fourth quarters.
Small Forward, Teddy Allen, had an impressive night as he had a game high 39 points off of 12-14 shooting. He was a sharpshooter from beyond the arc as he drilled 7 three pointers on the night, with 6-6 shooting at the free throw line.
For the Squadron, Jaden Springer led the team with 26 points off of 8-10 shooting.
The Vipers played the Squadron again on Tuesday in which the Birmingham team won, 142-111.
The Squadron exploded for 43 points in the second quarter and Hunter Dickinson led the effort for his team with 27 points.
