UTRGV Football set to host open practice, youth clinic

The UTRGV Football program is set to have an open practice to give fans the chance to see them in action. The open practice will be on Aug. 6 at Sams Memorial Stadium in Brownsville.

It is set to start at 3:30 p.m. but the gates open an hour prior. No pre-registration or tickets are required.

More so, the program is hosting a youth clinic for children who are in grades 2 to 5.

The clinic will be after the practice and will start at 5:15 p.m.

Now for that, registration will be required. Folks who are interested in signing up their young one can do so at: GoUTRGV. com/FootballClinic.

“This 30-minute clinic gives young athletes the opportunity to learn directly from and create lasting memories with current UTRGV football players and coaches in a fun, safe, and engaging environment,” UTRGV said in a release. “Participants will rotate through football skill stations designed to teach the fundamentals of the game while building confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship. All skill levels are welcome.”
