HERLINDA GARZA REYNA

Herlinda Garza Reyna, 97, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at her residence in McAllen.

Herlinda was a lifelong resident of McAllen and a member of Our Lady Sorrows Catholic Church. She was a devoted Catholic who prayed the rosary and read her bible daily. She worked as a bookkeeper for Britton’s Fine Jewelry for 25 years before working for the family businesses. One of the greatest joys in Herlinda’s life was spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Hector M. Reyna; son, Hector I. Reyna; her parents, Hermogenes Garza and Sofia Bourbois Garza; four siblings, Rodolfo Garza, Hermelinda Garza Trevino, Felix Garza, and Edmundo Garza.

Mrs. Reyna is survived by her four children, Yolanda Reyna (Alonzo) Cantu, Norma Reyna (Norman) Wormington, G.J. Reyna, Ana B. Reyna (Victor) Sanchez; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two siblings, Felicitas Garza Dreumont and Hermogenes Garza Jr.

Visitation was Aug. 9, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Memorial service took placeAug. 10, 2026, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in McAllen. Inurnment followed at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to VAMOS or Our Lady of Sorrows Church in McAllen.

Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
