Recently, we’ve been inundated with ads for or against various candidates.For the most part they are, I suppose, factual. That’s not to say, however, that they’re honest or ethical. There is, for example, the one that charges an incumbent with kicking thousands of Americans off of welfare. The charge is ( on its face) ridiculous since nobody in Congress has that authority. What is actually meant is that the party’s vote of a certain candidate removed certain people from receiving benefits. What people? Why?
