PHARR – Armando Rivera, Jr., 48, died Saturday, December 12, 2020, at Cornerstone Hospital in Houston.

“MANDO TIME” As he was known to his dear friends and family. Mando was a very generous and loving individual. He made time for all his friends, family, and made sure all were having a good time. Was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan regardless of the season or record. But most importantly he was a God fearing man that wanted the best for his family and dear friends. Mando will be genuinely missed and forever remembered for his impact on all who crossed his path.

“Even in fear, his strength, dignity, and grace in the face of the daunting challenges of this disease were an inspiration to all who knew him.” He brought us all closer to GOD.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother-in-law, Francisca Moroles; his father-in-law, Epifanio Contreras; his stepfather, Jose Bazan; and brother-in-law, Tito Carza. Armando is survived by

Armando is survived by his loving wife, Anna Lisa Rivera of Pharr; four children, Ivanna Marie Rivera of San Juan, Isabella Rivera, Armando Isaac Rivera, Antonio Rivera all of Pharr; three grandchildren, Savanna Morin, Sirenna Morin both of San Juan, Victor Elizondo, Jr of Pharr; mother-in-law, Berta Contreras; sister-in-law, Bo Contreras; his parents, Florinda Bazan of Houston, Leonzo Armando Rivera, Sr. of Pharr; three siblings, Cesar Rivera of Houston, Marisol (David) Barragan of Katy, Texas, and Ysenia Garza of San Juan; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. prayer service Thursday, December 17, 2020, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 2 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2020, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
