BENITO B. CARRIAGA

EDCOUCH — Benito B. Carriaga, 78, died Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his children.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Paula Trevino Carriaga; his parents, Francisco and Hilaria Carriaga.

Mr. Carriaga is survived by his five children, Benito (Oralia) Carriaga, Jr., Paula (Damian) Carriaga-Saenz, Willie Carriaga, Ester (Allison) Carriaga and Grace (Noel) Benavides; eight grandchildren Kate S., Denise C., Thomas S., Salomon C., Leslie C., Sophia C., Edward B., & Olivia B.; a brother, Manuel Carriaga; two sisters, Olivia Villalpando and Lupita Vela.

Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Monday, January 24, 2022, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton Rd. in Edinburg. Funeral service took place at 9 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment followed at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.

Military honors were conducted by VFW Post 7473 of Elsa.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
