CRAIG FIRTH KOVAR

Craig Firth Kovar, 67, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at his home in Crystal Lake, Illinois. His wife, Sharon, was by his side.

Craig had so many layers to his personality — a sharp sense of humor, artistic talent with a love of vibrant colors, a degree of intelligence that surpassed the mundane, an eager willingness to engage in any worthwhile debate, a work ethic like none other, and a love of repartee with his closest friends that could last hours.

Craig's encyclopedic knowledge of sports was amazing to those who knew him best, and his obsession with competition remained a lifelong pursuit.

Throughout his treatment for esophageal cancer, Craig was most motivated to continue living by his deep love for his immediate family. He considered his family to be his greatest legacy.

Craig’s family includes his loving wife of many years, Sharon; daughters Katie (Brandon) and Marisa (Matt); sons Alex, Bobby, and Garrett; and his three beloved grandchildren, Cole Matthew, Jack Kovar, and Isla Gray.

In honoring Craig’s insistent wishes, there will be no funeral service.

Before falling ill earlier this year, with retirement finally in sight, Craig said he wanted nothing more than to relax, travel, and enjoy life with ones he held most dear.

John 11: 25-26: “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?”
