EMMA CASTILLO ALANIZ

Emma Castillo Alaniz, 79, passed away Monday, February 28, 2022, at McAllen Medical Center.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Senovio Castillo; and her parents, Marcos Castillo and Elvira R. Castillo.

Mrs. Alaniz is survived by her husband, Amadeo Alaniz Jr.; four children, Cynthia E. Alaniz, Yvonne M. (Armando) Lozano, Deborah A. (Argelio) Sanchez, Amadeo Alaniz III; five grandchildren, Samantha N. Sanchez, Argelio “AJ” Sanchez Jr., Denise A. Sanchez, Gerald D. “JD” Cortina II, Gennavieve M. Cortina; two great-grandchildren, Nathan J. Sanchez, Evelynn G. Macias; two siblings, Elvira Tovar and Marcos Castillo Jr.

Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Thurday, March 3, 2022, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service took place at 2 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
