ESPERANZA SANCHEZ

McALLEN — Esperanza Sanchez, 85, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at her residence in McAllen.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Casto Sanchez; parents, Norberto and Hermelinda Melendez; five brothers, Sixto Melendez, Norberto Melendez Jr., Julian Melendez, Alfredo Melendez, Raul Melendez; and a sister, Matilde Melendez.

Mrs. Sanchez is survived by her two children, Casto (Donna Larson) Sanchez Jr., Delia (Duane) Sanchez Mossman; two grandchildren, Nicole (Miguel) Blanco, Kyle Burton; four great grandchildren, Jayden Blanco, Eleyna Blanco, Brandon Blanco, Noah Blanco; two siblings, Maria Elena (Homero) Garza and Guadalupe Macias.

Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. prayer service Sunday, May 15, 2022, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service took place at 10 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2022, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
