FELIPE S. GARCIA

Felipe S. Garcia, 79, passed away Monday, October 10, 2022, at McAllen Heart Hospital.

Felipe was born in Alamo, TX. and grew up on Duranta and 9 1/2 street where a lot of his family still resides. He migrated with his family to Burley, ID. from the 1960’s to the early 2000’s. He was a well-known contractor and

foreman in the Rupert/Paul area. He worked as a truck driver his whole life and retired in 2021. His joy was working and spending time with his big family. He will greatly be missed.

He is preceded in death by his son, Felipe Garcia Jr.; granddaughter, Princess Maria Lydia Garcia; parents, Jose Maria “Chema” Garcia and Maria Isabel Soto; siblings, Lydia G. Ramos, Carlos S. Garcia, Maria “Elena” Garcia, Carlota “Carla” Garcia, Jose Maria “Joe” Garcia, Maria “Marita” Garcia; step-mom, Maria Inez “Dora” Garcia; sister-in-law, Bertha Garcia; and a nephew, Cesar Cantu.

Mr. Garcia is survived by his wife, Lidia Reyna Garcia; seven children, Rachel (Robert) Rodriguez, Robert (Alma) Garcia, Ricardo (Irene) Garcia, Norma L. (Ramiro) Garza, Mary (Matthew) Garcia-Lopez, Linda Garcia, Diana Garcia; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; six siblings, Janie Garza, Javier Garcia, Jose Luis Garcia, Mildred Garcia, Veronica Garcia, and Eva Garcia.

Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. prayer service Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 1 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2022, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
