GILBERTO M. NINO

ALAMO – Gilberto M. Nino, 85, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.

Gilberto is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Nino; a sister, Emma (Chano) Reyes; two brothers, Rogelio (Ramona) Nino and Jesus Nino.

Mr. Nino is survived by his three children, Sandra Lester, Gilbert (Anita) Nino Jr., Norma (Jose Luis) Perales; six grandchildren, Samantha Perales, Jose Luis Perales, Alexys Nino (Jacob) Leal, Jonathan Nino, Dylan Lester, Giovanni Ramirez; one great-grandchild, Zoe Leal; five siblings, Rosario Lumbreras, Amparo (Roberto) Olivarez, Ramiro (Francisca) Nino, Esperanza Garces, Jaime (Maria) Nino and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 1 p.m., Monday, Dec. 21, 2020, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alamo.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
