GUADALUPE ‘LUPE’ FLORES

ALAMO — Guadalupe “Lupe” Flores, 89, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, January 6, 2022.

Mr. Flores was a man of vision and business. For close to thirty years, he and his wife owned and operated the 495 Drive Inn on 495 and Raul Longoria Road. He loved beautiful horses, but his greatest treasure was knowing Jesus and his family. He will be fondly remembered as a gentle man with a kind heart for others. Although he was a man of humble beginnings with little education, his wisdom and common sense allowed him much success in life.

He will be greatly missed, but his family and friends know they will see him again in heaven. Deuteronomy 33:27 The eternal God is your refuge and underneath are the everlasting arms.

He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Lucia G. Flores, who went to heaven in 2020; three siblings, Soila Amador, Jose “Joe” Flores, and Eustolio “Tolin” Flores.

Mr. Flores is survived by his three children, Jesus “Jesse” Flores, Romeo Flores, and Marlene Flores; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three siblings, Beatrice “Bella” Gonzalez, Baldemar “Baldo” Flores, and Enedina “Marica” Casas.

Visitation was held from 5 to 8 pm with a 6 pm prayer service on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 am Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
