LEONCIO GARCIA SR.

PHARR — Leoncio Garcia Sr., 92, passed away Friday, July 7, 2023, at his residence in Pharr.

Mr. Garcia was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean conflict.

Mr. Garcia is survived by his wife, Ofelia Garcia; four children, Elvia (Frank) Ankawi, Vanessa (Javier) Flores, Jessica (Luis) Fernandez, Leoncio Garcia Jr.; seven grandchildren, Isabel Ankawi, Paulina Ankawi, Angelina Ankawi, Destiny Fernandez, Franchesca Fernandez, Luis Fernandez, and Melanie Fernandez.

Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service was scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Cemetery in Mission.

Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 7473 of Elsa.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
