LINO BRIONES JR.

EDINBURG – Lino Briones, Jr., 80, went home to be with our Lord Thursday, December 17, 2020.

Lino was born December 06, 1940 in Edinburg, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lino Briones Sr. and Zulema Longoria Briones; and his sister, Hilma (Lozano) Briones.

Mr. Briones is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carlota Elvia Briones; his sons, Sergio (Yvette) Briones, and Alberto (Cruzita) Briones. He was blessed with six grandchildren, Tatiana Nicole, Kaida Sinai, Ty Nikolas, Sergio Sebastian, Kaelyn Cheyenne, and Trinity Natalie Briones.

He served proudly in the U.S. Air Force and Army National Guard. He was a stern but simple man, loved life and his family. After retiring from the Texas Dept. of Criminal Justice, he enjoyed being at home, keeping busy building and fixing things, watching westerns, football, and boxing. His daily routine was his morning coffee, paper and sudoku puzzles. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. There will be no visitation

There will be no visitation or interment at this time, giving the circumstances the family has chosen to cremate. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
