MARIA CELIA PRADO

EDINBURG — Maria Celia Prado, 80, entered eternal rest Thursday, February 24, 2022, at Amara Hospice Inpatient Facility in Edinburg.

Maria Celia was a lifelong resident of Edinburg and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She is preceded in death by a daughter, Dalia Nora Prado; her parents, Manuel and Gregoria Luna; and four siblings, Lydia Arevalo, Leonel Luna, Leonor Hernandez, and Esteban Luna.

Mrs. Prado is survived by her husband of 62 years, Federico Prado; three children, Aida (Mario) Garcia, Elma (Santana) Carrera, Federico “Freddy” Prado Jr., all of Edinburg; and a grandson, Federico “Trey” Prado III.

Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service took place at 10 a.m. Monday, February 28, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
