MARIA ELENA ARREDONDO

ALAMO - Maria Elena Arredondo, 89, died Sunday, January 20, 2019, at Solara Hospital in McAllen.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Arredondo; a son, Gilberto Gonzalez; and a grandchild, Juan Javier Arredondo.

Mrs Arredondo is survived by her seven children, San Juanita (Zeferino) Silva, Elia Alicia (Manuel) Rodriguez, Martha Dalia Arredondo, Mario Antonio (Sonia) Arredondo, Ruben Arredondo, all of Alamo, Ricardo (Carmen) Arredondo of Pharr, and Alejandro (Heather) Arredondo of San Antonio; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jose Guajardo of Chicago, IL; and a sister, Guadalupe (Cesar) Rodriguez, of San Juan.

Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2019, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment followed at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.

Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
