MARIA OLIVIA SANCHEZ

Maria Olivia (Lopez) Sanchez, 91, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.

Maria Olivia grew up in El Capote and moved to Las Milpas in 1960. She was a migrant farm worker who took pride in driving the workers in her father’s tandem truck. Maria Olivia then married the love of her life in 1971 and settled in Pharr She is survived by her husband, Juan Sanchez; daughter, Angelica (Enrique) Treviño; grandchildren, Olivia Elizabeth Sanchez, Ruben Ezequiel Treviño, Ricky Treviño Jr., and Robert Treviño; sister, Minnie (Polo) Contreras; brothers, Ruben (Elena) Lopez, Adan Lopez and Carlos (Rosa) Lopez; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A visitation was held this past Monday, May 25, 2026, at De Leon Funeral Home. Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at St. John Catholic Church and Palm Valley Memorial Gardens under the direction of De Leon Funeral Home of Pharr.
