MARJORIE LOUISE BURCH

Marjorie Louise Burch went to be with the Lord on Friday July 15, 2022. She was born December 18, 1929, in Edinburg, Texas to Henry Ball and Mary Alice Rogers Edminston. She worked for Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator for many years. Her husband started Burch Construction and she helped him in the daily operations of the business. She spent most of her life caring for her youngest son, Billy Burch. She was a caring and loving mother. Marjorie was preceded in death by her loving husband Bill Burch, a son, Allan Burch, and a sister Mary Alice Foreman.

She is survived by her children Cynthia Ellis (Gilbert Ellis), Gary Burch (Debra Burch), Karen Burch (Willis Ashby) and Billy Burch, her grandchildren, Heather Bourek, Eric Goette (Jalah Goette), Ashley Burch, Sean Burch (Stephanie Burch), Ansel Ashby (Emily Sims), Alden Ashby, and Alison Ashby as well as three great grandchildren, Jolie Bourek, Henry Bourek and Luke Goette.

Marjorie was a direct descendent of the Rogiers (Rogers) family that immigrated to Edinburg from Belgium in the early 1900s. The Rogers family was one of the original settlers in Edinburg and she was very proud to be part of this history.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment followed at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Due to Covid and health concerns, there was no reception after the interment.
