RAUL ‘ROY’ NAVARRO

SAN JUAN — Raul “Roy” Navarro, 74, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at his residence in San Juan.

Born in McAllen, he had lived in San Juan all of his life and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish. Mr. Navarro was employed by the Pharr Housing Authority for over 35 years, where he served as Executive Director. Roy was a member of the Pharr Jaycees and served on the PSJA ISD School Board. He was a member of the Texas Association of Sports Officials Football Division and part of the Rio Grande Valley Chapter, where he served as secretary and president.

Roy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be remembered for all the love he shared with his family and friends. He truly loved each of them and if you knew him, you knew it.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Luis and Leonila Navarro.

Mr. Navarro is survived by his wife of 54 years, Minerva Navarro; three children, Omar Javier (Maritza G.) Navarro, Norma Jean (Ramiro) Rocha, Richard (Michele Y.) Navarro; seven grandchildren, Bryan Omar Navarro, Hannah Renee Navarro, Reanna Rocha, Ryan Rocha, Katelyn Navarro, Natalie Navarro, Noah Richard Navarro; a brother, Robert (Sylvia) Navarro and a sister, Belinda (Rick) Vargas.

Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at Friday, July 7, 2023, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment followed at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
