REBECA DE LA GARZA

EDINBURG — Rebeca De La Garza, 82, of Edinburg, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026, in her hometown of Edinburg.

Born in Edinburg, Texas, Rebeca was the beloved daughter of Macedonio Aguilar and Concepcion Delgado. Throughout her life, she was known for her strength, independence, and generous heart. She lived life on her own terms, embracing every opportunity to travel, sew, and spend time playing lotería with family and friends. Her adventurous spirit and determination inspired everyone who knew her. Rebeca was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

She was loved by so many people and had an incredible gift for making everyone feel welcome, even those she had just met. Her warmth, compassion, and caring nature left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Though her family and friends will miss her deeply, they find comfort in the beautiful memories she leaves behind and the love she shared so freely throughout her life. Her legacy of strength, generosity, and love will never be forgotten.

Mrs. De La Garza is survived by her five children, Liza Villarreal, Ina Rivera, Ramon Lopez, Jose Armando Rivera; Tony Perez; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four siblings, Enrique Aguilar, Macedonio Aguilar Jr., Alicia Sanchez, and Pole Casarez; extended family members; and countless friends whose lives she touched with her kindness and unconditional love.

Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Rebeca's life and honor the many memories she created with those she loved. 'The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.' — Psalm 23:1 Visitation was Friday, July 10, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
