RODOLFO “Rudy” HERNANDEZ

EDINBURG - Rodolfo “Rudy” Hernandez, 57, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021 at his home. Born August 16, 1963 in Plymouth, Indiana, he was the son of late Ricardo D. Hernandez and the late Marcela Hernandez.

Rudy was a beloved son, brother and uncle. He was the heart of the family. He faced his medical challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Rudy was strong until the end. He enjoyed John Deere tractors and Caterpillar/CAT machinery. He loved music, with his favorite being Mariachi, a genre of Regional Mexican music.

He is survived by his siblings: Ricardo (Connie) Hernandez Jr, Ruben (Mary) Hernandez, all of Edinburg, Mario (Melissa) Hernandez of McAllen; Cheli Hernandez, Belen (Rocky) Villarreal of Edinburg; five nieces and seven nephews and six grandnieces eight grandnephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Marcela Hernandez, maternal grandparents Wenceslado and Consuelo Castillo and his paternal grandparents Federico and Trinidad Hernandez.

We would like to thank Mario Hernandez, Cheli Hernandez, and Yolanda Hernandez for the continuous care they provided over the years. Rudy will be greatly missed and will forever be in our hearts.

Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. with a rosary at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021, at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.

Funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
