TOMASITA “Tommie” PEÑA

EDINBURG – Tomasita “Tommie” Peña, 63, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.

Tommie was an educator for 40 years and was the happiest when teaching at school, church, and being with family. Many will remember her as selfless, positive, faithful, and a friend to all. She was always with a smile on her face and was irreplaceable. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Clemencia Peña.

Ms. Peña is survived by her four siblings, Jose (Maria) Peña, Jose Luis (Olga) Peña, Esmeralda (Henry) Trevino, Martin (Hilda) Peña; eight nieces and nephews, Norma Ayala, Marsha Peña-Abila, Christina Cortez, Monica Peña, JoeLewis Peña, Christopher Peña, Michael Peña, Candice Treviño; numerous grand-nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
