McALLEN — Elmo "Moe" Hargis peacefully entered eternal rest on November 11, 2021 at the age of 93. Moe was proudly born and raised in the Texas Panhandle. In high school, he met the love of his life Mary Kathryn "Kathy" Hargis, to whom he was married for 63 years. Moe will be remembered for his steadfast faith in Christ, loyalty to family and friends, and contagious positivity. He had an uncanny ability to find happiness in everyday life. Moe was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was also a devoted worker and patriot, dedicating over four decades of his life to Sun Oil Company after serving our country as a U.S. Navy Reserve Sailor. While living in Richardson, Moe served as a deacon at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Dallas. In McAllen, he served as a deacon at First Baptist Church.
