Democrat Chair Hinojosa resigns
So, State Democrat Chair Gilberto Hinojosa will step down next March from the seat he’s held for the past 12 years while remaining out of touch with his core constituency.
Why does Hinojosa believe this election turned out the way it did, during which most Democrats at the state and national levels took a pounding, you might ask.
The economy? The number of people coming across the border without the legal right to do so, few of whom have any financial resources to secure their stay here? Or the fact that so many people who have been living and working in the RGV all their lives feel that they get little in comparison to the new arrivals, and that party leaders care more about the undocumented immigrants than they do the locals?
That might be a start to figuring out what the old-Democrat base believes are the most important challenges facing this country.
Instead, Hinojosa wants to blame the trans controversy?
What? Seriously?
Serious as a heart attack. Hinojosa said in an interview with the Texas Newsroom that:
“You have a choice as a party. You could, for example, you can support transgender rights up and down all the categories where the issue comes up, or you can understand that there's certain things that we just go too far on, that a big bulk of our population does not support.” (Source: TexasTribune.org.)
While it’s probably true that most Hispanics are conservative from a social angle, the trans issue isn’t what’s most on their collective minds.
In fact, the Democrat Party has been taken over by the fringe element, so much so, that Hinojosa had to walk back the comments he made to the Texas Newsroom, saying he recognized “the pain and frustration” that his words have caused.
For speaking the truth?
That’s not allowed in some circles any more in this state or country.
Yet, in social media posts, Gilberto Hinojosa did his best to pacify the fringe element in his party who care more about the right for a person to have his penis surgically removed, jacked up with some estrogen, switch his name from Bob to Betty, while ignoring simple things like the current cost of butter: $7.
Wrote Hinojosa, while begging forgiveness in digital print:
“I extend my sincerest apologies to those I hurt with my comments today. I recognize the pain and frustration my words have caused. In frustration over the GOP's lies to incite hate for trans communities, I failed to communicate my thoughts with care and clarity.”
Okay, stop for a minute. I can’t let Hinojosa continue without calling out his BS. I’m an independent, not a Republican, so I hate it when either party lies. The GOP lied about Iraq, and the Dems joined them, but now Hinojosa is lying about the trans issue.
For starters, most Republicans I know could care less about the so-called trans issue. The only thing that bothers them, and frankly, it bothers me, too, is letting the trans debate, discussion enter the classrooms; and second, letting trans athletes compete against women in female sports.
I digress. Must let State Democrat Chair Gilbert Hinojosa continue with his seeming suck-up drivel intended for the LGBTQ+ community:
“I've been committed to fighting against the very rhetoric that has caused trans people across this country to grapple with the fear of simply existing because of the hate spewed by Donald Trump and TX Republicans. You deserve to feel seen, valued and safe in our state and our party. My unequivocal and unwavering support for LGBTQ+ Texans remains steadfast, and I am committed to ensuring our party never abandons you, especially when you need us most.”
Clueless Gilberto
That rhetoric right there is more akin to Nazi talking points. Label a certain degree of the electorate, in this case more than half the country, as hate mongers against trans people. For starters, of all the Republicans I know, conservatives, I know of no one who hates a trans person. Again, the issue is how they relate to girl sports, access to girls restrooms and locker rooms, and access to competition against biological females.
Despite that bit of fact, which Hinojosa could easily have obtained from any Democrat Focus Group, the state chair still has no seeming clue what ails his party. Namely, the economy and a border so porous that under Biden, approximately seven million people have crossed the southern border, and more than 1.7 million simply skipped the process of turning themselves into Border Patrol, asking for asylum and instead, successfully, fled on foot. (Source: budget. house.gov.)
According to the Center for Immigration Studies, the number of unauthorized immigrants in the U.S. rose by 2.4 million in the first 27 months of the Biden presidency.
According to State Dem Chair Gilberto, though, this fight between the GOP and the Democrat Party is centered on transgender issues.
How out of touch can one man be?
Consider this — this past August, at the Democrat National Convention, Gilberto Hinojosa said that Texas would be “the nation’s biggest battleground state.”
Huh?
There’s not one elected Democrat currently holding state office in the Lone Star State; the polls all showed that the GOP was far out in front of the Democrats this election cycle, save a few races like Ted Cruz, who still won, and Texas turned even more red in 2024 than it was when Hinojosa made his remarks this past summer.
Poor Colin Allred
Speaking of Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz, his opponent this election, Democrat Colin Allred, a civil rights lawyer and former NFL linebacker, was forced to come out and say that, no, he didn’t think it was right for a trans guy to play sports against girls/young women despite going through the transition, either surgery, hormone- replacement therapy, or both.
The trans guy, in every case, is still going to keep the same musculoskeletal system that matches his biological sex as stated on his birth certificate. Meaning, he’s going to still be strong enough to do damage to some female athletes. Just do an online search for “Payton McNabb.” She is still suffering severe head and neck injuries resulting in longer-term concussion systems after a trans guy (now a female) spiked a ball so hard into her face that she is still suffering today.
Yet, we are told by too many people that despite the danger to girls, young women, the thing that matters most in all of the world is not saying anything that might upset the LGBTQ+ community as they advocate for guys playing in women’s sports.
Right.
In a story published last year by an ABC affiliate, the injured volleyball player, Payton McNabb, said, “I’m here for every biological female athlete behind me. My little sister, my cousins, my teammates. Allowing biological males to compete against biological females is dangerous.”
Anyone with a functioning brain would understand that, but not those who are trying to take over the Democrat Party, and based on Allred’s need to walk back his trans/sport statement, it looks like they already have.
The only thing Allred said in a political ad was:
“I’m a dad. I’m also a Christian. My faith has taught me that all kids are God’s kids. So let me be clear. I don’t want boys playing girls’ sports or any of this ridiculous stuff that Ted Cruz is saying.”
At the time, Cruz was hitting him hard in political ads, saying he was in favor of letting guys play in female sports, which is why Allred had to state his real position.
For being honest about his stance, here’s what Allred got back from an LGBTQ+ spokesperson: “Democratic candidate Colin Allred becomes the first Democratic candidate to capitulate to anti-trans ads and jump into targeting trans people as a result of anti-trans advertisements. Very shortsighted and a stinging betrayal for his potential future LGBTQ constituents.”
Who is targeting trans people? In fact, who is anti-trans if it only pertains to adults? All most people want is for them to stay away from playing girls/young women, because as it turns out, it’s a dangerous activity; and they don’t want the trans subject taught to minors on school property.
Other than that, go on and live your life on your own terms.
Oh, well, adios, Gilberto Hinojosa. Maybe the state Democrat Party will do better without you. That won’t happen, though, until enough moderate Democrats stand up for its base constituency, which is still comprised of people who don’t believe in the trans-sport agenda, don’t believe in open borders, and think the economy can do better.
Time will tell how the Democrat Party reacts suffering this killer 2024 defeat.
I’m guessing that it will continue moving Far Left, and more working-class Democrats are going to say, hey, I didn’t leave the Democrat Party. Rather, it left me.
