Biden attacks history

It's been two centuries since Benedict Arnold became the most villified traitor in American history by preparing to turn over West Point to the invading British. As a consequence he was fired from his position in charge of West Point, fled for his life, and ended up living in Britain where he was just about as much disrespected by the British as he was by the Americans. He was a bitter little man who thought he deserved some promotions he didn't get and therefore turned against his country.

For the next two hundred years nobody else was fired from directing the United States military academies for political reasons UP UNTIL THREE MONTHS AGO when Joe Biden began axing Republicans. These people had done nothing to deserve their fate. I suppose they just weren't woke enough to suit Uncle Joe's ultra-liberal tastes.

It is extremely dangerous to limit control of the military or of institutions that train future military leadership to a single political party. This is the stuff that coups are made of (and we certainly don't want a military coup here in America). What Biden did, therefore, was extremely dangerous. It was also thoroughly illegal. Under the current system the boards controlling the Army, Navy, and Air Force academies are made up of individuals appointed by the President for terms of three years. The specific term used in the law is that each board member SHALL BE APPOINTED for that length of term. The word employed is SHALL BE (not may be). An individual president, therefore, has no business monkeying around with the length of the appointment. President Trump didn't monkey around when he appointed General Keene and the others to three-year terms. Biden, however, was certainly messing with the law when he wrote all the Trump appointees that they needed to immediately resign or they would be fired. One of those appointees quite correctly responded that it was Uncle Joe who needed to resign. All the nearly two dozen appointees have subsequently been fired by Biden.

I suppose this could be termed a coup. The last time there was such a big political shift in a service academy was when Democrat leaders decided to leave the Union in order to preserve Democrat slavery. As you will recall, that didn't work out so well. Neither will this current political move by Uncle Joe. (Ed. note: The seven Confederate states, including Texas, didn’t leave the Union to preserve slavery.)

America is facing very real and very dangerous problems on the world stage. China is building jet fighter facilities just north of India even as India reciprocates. Russia has massed a hundred thousand troops just outside the Ukraine border and is trying to bully the USA into keeping Ukraine out of the EU. (Ed. note: Meanwhile, NATO is trying its best to surround Russia with NATO pawns that get bribed into joining.) Japan is working with Taiwan to prepare for a possible Chinese invasion. (Ed. note: Never going to happen. Taiwan is one of the select countries protected by the so-called U.S. nuclear umbrella.)

None of our enemies are concerned with how woke our military academies are. They don't care if equality reigns supreme. All they care about is whether our military is capable of doing its job. That job entails projecting American power around the world in order to achieve U.S. goals. (Ed. note: It’s really about people making more money, leaving behind bombed-out countries, a la Iraq.) Put really simply, it involves our military being prepared to kill people, break things, and destroy the enemy's ability to conduct war. We mustn't lose track of that. (Ed. note: The Deep State never does.)

The move by Biden away from shared authority by Republicans and Democrats over our military academies seems to be a move away from military preparedness in favor of social engineering. If that's the case, then what he's doing is really, really dangerous. We need a military dedicated to the proposition that the United States needs to be able to defeat a combined force of China, Russia, and Iran. We can afford nothing less unless we are willing to see our large cities turned into smouldering ruins. That is not the brand of equality we ever want to see.

(Ed. note: With the proliferation of nukes between these three countries, the concept of “mutual shared destruction” will forestall a war. As far as Iran is concerned, we had nuke inspectors there until Trump kicked them out by shredding the treaty. Smart move.)
