Call to action asks for halt of hatred
Editor:
It has been almost five months since the presidential election, still Democrats continue to spew a witches' brew of hate towards President Trump and his allies.
In the RGV, Italo Zarate, Ned Sheets and others continue to submit letters to (a) forum on an almost weekly basis to remind us that President Donald Trump is a horrible human being and a wannabe dictator. Just in case anybody forgets.
A new line of attack from Mr. Zarate is that Mr. Trump is Putin's puppet and an enemy of freedom and democracy for being disrespectful to Volodymyr Zelenskyy when they met in the Oval Office. It should be noted that Zelenskyy was not especially cordial or respectful to President Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance at the meeting. It appears that Zelenskyy stopped being polite as soon as he realized he would not be able to play President Trump like a fiddle for billions of additional U.S. taxpayer dollars to fund a war with no end in sight.
It may come as a surprise to Mr. Zarate that many Americans do not view Zelensky as George Washington and Winston Churchill rolled into one. Far from it.
On the national stage, a Congressman from California has stated that the time has come for the use of weapons to fight the Trump agenda. Meanwhile, a while a Congresswoman from Texas stated that she hoped to see Elon Musk taken down on her birthday. She has also stated that Senator Ted Cruz from Texas should be knocked over the head. Such is the rhetoric coming from self-proclaimed 'guardians of democracy'.
People who spew such hate toward their fellowman should perhaps take a moment to reflect on the lyrics from an old song below.
“What the world needs now is love. That's the only thing that there's just so little of.”
Sincerely,
Ben Castillo
