No one cares

Gay, queer?

Can’t remember who it was, but I heard someone recently talk about the gay agenda, and he said, and I’m paraphrasing, you know, it’s like some in the gay community just can’t stand to be accepted, so they have to push the envelope further, and now try and get “gayness” into our schools, including elementary.

I thought about it for awhile, and thought, he’s got a point. No one, or at least none but a few, cares who’s gay and who’s not. In case those in the gay advocacy groups haven’t noticed, it’s been like that for at least the past 40 years.

There was indeed a time when this wasn’t the case.

Jail for Gays?

The great English Writer Oscar Wilde was actually put on trial for “gross indecency” in the late 1890s after the details of his intimate relationship with a Brit aristocrat were made public during a trial whereby he was trying to sue his paramour’s dad, the Duke of Queensberry, for calling him a homosexual. Wilde lost the libel case and ended up serving time in prison (two years) because in the UK at the time, same-sex was illegal.

During the lead-up to the libel trial, the Duke of Queensberry hired private detectives who followed Wilde and recorded his life of debauchery, as they put it at the time. That’s what led to his conviction.

His is a sad story. Which is why it only made sense to do away with the sodomy laws, etc., some said. The majority of Western Civilization agreed with the concept that a person is either born gay or they’re not, and it’s ridiculous for Hollywood actors to still remain in the closet, so to speak.

So the GAY (Good AS You) movement began. By the time I hit my 20s, from 1975 to 1985, no longer were we using the words “fag” or “queer” to harass our friends when they dropped a catch or threw like a girl (most girls). We recognized that for the real homosexuals out there, male or female, such derogations were probably hurtful. Respect.

Besides that, as I grew into later adulthood, I often found that some of the best people crossing my path were gay. I’d often joke that if the world were run by gay people, we’d be better off. Less wars, more love, etc.

Some of my friends didn’t feel the same way. They’d rag on and on about gay people, until I developed my own ideas on the matter. Meaning, the few guys I knew who would go on and on about gay guys, make mean jokes about them, I always thought that they had secret yearnings for gay sex, and the idea was so abhorrent to them, that they had to put on a good face by denouncing it every chance they could.

Leaving me to wonder: who cares?

Do I need to know if you’re gay or straight? Not really. Just be a decent person.

I had one guy I knew who once told me that he had fallen in love with me. I told him, sorry, but I’m dating someone (a woman). I had my rear pinched in Vera Cruz at a gay bar I didn’t know was gay until I walked into it and felt the pinch.

Think I’ll head to the next bar, thanks.

The New Dawn

Now, in 2023, it’s as if we’ve come to the point where gay advocates (some) just can’t stand to accept how good the gay community has it. They can marry, proclaim they are gay, and no one is going to hassle them over it, unless they step into a biker bar on a Friday night and try and pick up the club leader while wearing a micro-mini.

Aside from that, no one is forced to remain in the closet.

That’s a good thing, I think.

So why are some in the gay community pushing this drag-queen show down our respective throats as when it involves kids.

It’s as if they’re trying to cause a scene, whereby they can say, you see, nothing has changed, we are still being discriminated against.

No, it’s just that most parents, grandparents, don’t want anyone screwing with their kids. When it’s time to teach them about the Birds and the Bees, the parents can do that, not the schools.

Of course, it’s a state-bystate deal. In Texas, you don’t see as many drag queens in schools as you do in, say, California.

It’s a whacky world out there, amigo. To the point that I have to look up definitions to things. Such as: Queer, intersex, non-binary, cisgender, pansexual.

In my day, “queer” was a derogatory term. Now we’re told that it’s okay to use it.

How about using the N-word?

Only if you’re Black? Okay. New rules in modern society; hard to stay abreast of the changes on a regular basis.
