The Art of the Deal

I’ve noticed down through the years that Democrat candidates often make outrageous accusations against their opponents during a campaign, but then shake hands and smile once the race has been decided. It’s almost like the name calling was some sort of game. The last presidential campaign was a case in point. A number of Democrats accused Donald Trump of being a reincarnation of Adolf Hitler. When Trump won, however, they then asked for a job in his administration. Republicans, by contrast, are usually deadly serious when they make similar accusations, because they really believe them. The voter is in the unfortunate position of not knowing which candidate is telling the truth and therefore often opts not to believe any accusation by anyone made in the realm of campaign rhetoric.
