Harvest Christian wins its fourth straight state championship

The Lady Eagles out of Harvest Christian Academy in Edinburg have won their fourth straight state championship.

The championship against Texoma Christian School in Sherman was played out in Robinson on Thursday for the TAPPS 1A State Championship. The Eagles took the commanding win, 61-25.

Following a first round bye, Harvest cruised in their first win against Faith Academy of Bellville, 103-10. Then they had a deciding win against First Baptist Academy in Universal City, 84-15. Then in the Final Four — the third round before the championship — Harvest defeated Founder Christian School in Spring, Texas by the score of 70-27.

Last year, the Lady Eagles also played Texoma in the state championship last year and won that game — albeit a closer score.

A school that is synonomous with the term, "winning tradition," the Lady Eagles finish the year with a 39-2 record. The only two losses came from schools who are in higher conferences. The first being Weslaco in 6A, and Robert Vela, in 5A during tournament play early in the season.
