PSJA North Raiderette Major signs to Sam Houston State University

PSJA North Early College High School Raiderette Major Tariana Ruiz has signed a letter of commitment Monday to join the competitive dance program at Sam Houston State University during a ceremony.

With a passion for dance, Ruiz brings skill and dedication to the SHSU Bearkat community.

Having garnered attention from university officials during a dance clinic in the fall of 2023 held at SHSU, her performance earned her an official invitation to join the Bearkat Dance Team without needing to go through an audition process.

Ruiz has demonstrated her commitment to pushing the boundaries of dance, captivating audiences with her technique and skill.

Ruiz expressed her excitement about joining the Barkat family.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to further my dance education at Sam Houston State University,” she said. “I appreciate all the support I have received along this journey of mine. I hope to make everyone proud.”
