For Dallas Cowboy fans, watching Mike McCarthy leave the clubhouse for the very last time this month was almost as nice as watching Jason Garret walk off into the sunset.
During the early signing period, University of Texas Rio Grande Valley head football coach Travis Bush announced the addition of six student-athletes for the 2025 season, including athlete Jaxon Baize, wide receiver Corey Holmes, offensive lineman Gannon Lauer, defensive end David Nwabuoku, tight end Brendon Ray, and running back Broderick Taylor.
After Dallas was massacred 41-7 Sunday by the Eagles, Cowboys Owner and GM Jerry Jones made an announcement during a postgame press conference, which took many Dallas fans, and players, by surprise: “We’ll be moving to the Women’s Football Alliance (WFA) next season,” said Jones. “Which will give us better odds of winning next year’s championship, even if it is in the women’s division. Our guys are excited. Winning the big one. That’s what sports is all about. Sadly, we have been mediocre for far too long.”
For $10 million a year, one would think that UT-Austin could land a college coach that could teach his players the game’s fundamentals.
