SATURDAY, SUNDAY AND MONDAY STATS, 9-26-28, 2020

EDINBURG Thirty-one more people in Hidalgo County died from COVID-19 related complications and 115 more have tested positive, Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez said Monday. These numbers reflect a three-day total since health officials began taking weekends off two weeks ago for the first time since local infections began.

“I remain encouraged that the numbers of people being affected by this virus continue to drop,” Judge Cortez said.  But we cannot declare this over. We must remain vigilant about protecting ourselves.”

The 31 additional deaths bring the total death count from this disease to 1,661 people. The total number of known positive cases stands at 31,677. The number of people hospitalized from the disease now stands at 167 cases; 75 of those patients are being treated in intensive care units.
