State Roundup: Paxton, Crockett leading in primary polls

Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton and Democratic U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett are leading their respective primary campaigns for U.S. Senate, according to a poll released released last week by the University of Houston’s Hobby School of Public Affairs, the Austin American- Statesman reported. Early voting began Feb. 17 and runs through Feb. 27.

Pharr Reports Continued Sales Tax Growth

The Pharr City Commission received the Sales Tax Collection Report for December 2025, showing continued positive growth for the city. Year-todate collections increased by 4.28% compared to December 2024, while December collections alone rose by 10.08% over the same month last year. For the City’s Fiscal Year 2025–2026, fiscal year-to-date sales tax collections are up 6.80%, reflecting ongoing economic growth and a strong economy.
